Councillor Padraig O’Sullivan gravely concerned at planning permission approval for Little Island Office Blocks
November 28, 2018
I have serious reservations regarding Cork County Council’s decision to grant planning permission to Eastgate Developments (Cork) for three new office blocks at Eastgate Retail & Business Park.
This new development could increase the number of people working in Little Island by up to 1000, and given the existing traffic issues, and the fact that the Little Island Traffic and Transportation Study has not yet been completed, I believe Cork County Council has been premature in approving this planning application.
I also have grave concerns as to whether the Carrigrennan Waste Water Treatment Plant has capacity for such a development, and whether it’s permissible under its licence provided by the Environmental Protection Agency.
I will be raising these matters among others at Monday’s meeting of Cork County Council
