November 28, 2018
Fianna Fáil County Councillor Pádraig O’Sullivan has welcomed the announcement for funding of €500,000 towards the completion of the second phase of the Youghal Eco-Boardwalk.
The Department of Rural and Community Development made the announcement as part of an €8 million boost for 18 projects around the country under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme.
“I’m thrilled with the announcement made by Minister Michael Ring, said Councillor O’Sullivan. “This funding will ensure the completion of the walkway from Youghal Town Centre to Redbarn, providing yet another amenity to those visiting and indeed living in East Cork.”
The Fianna Fáil election candidate for Cork East, added “I’m very hopeful for a similar funding announcement for Harper’s Island Wetland Centre, which I understand is home to more than 50 different water bird species.”
